PRINTSALI STRAIN DESIGN STUDIO

User guide

Fill out a few fields, generate one original label, and keep every variation organized in your strain library. This guide explains what each control does.

01 — Design details

STRAIN NAME
Required. Enter the exact strain name you want printed in large, highly readable lettering. Unusual or intentionally misspelled strain names are allowed.
CLASSIFICATION — INDICA / HYBRID / SATIVA
Select the category. For Indica or Sativa, use Dominant when no precise percentages are known or Percentage split when they are known. The up/down percentage control changes in 5% increments; the other percentage automatically adjusts to total 100%. Hybrid prints simply as “HYBRID.”
PARENTS / LINEAGE
Enter Parent 1 × Parent 2 in the two boxes. The app automatically places the full lineage into an integrated lower label frame. Check UNKNOWN/OMIT LINEAGE when no parents are known; the generator will omit the lineage entirely rather than guess.
THC
Required. Enter the number only, such as 28; the app adds the percent sign. The arrow controls move in 1% increments. Previously saved decimal values can still be restored. Your design receives an oversized bottom-right THC emblem.
NO TILL LIVING SOIL
Optional toggle. When enabled, a color-matched badge with exactly “NO TILL LIVING SOIL” appears in the lower-left. When off, no soil wording is added.
IDEA / CONCEPT
Custom concept is selected by default, with its text area open. Describe a style, theme, mascot, character, scene, lettering effect, color palette, or visual pun. If you have no particular direction, select Surprise me and the generator will invent a fresh theme from the strain name.
REFERENCE IMAGE
Optional. Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP to guide the illustration. Useful for caricatures, cartoon characters, mascots or similar artistic styles. The image is resized before sending to your chosen generator. Your older gallery examples are never attached automatically.
IMAGE RATIO
1:1 makes a square label. 3:2 makes a horizontal label. Both formats belong in the same strain-library entry when the strain name matches.
REVIEW SPELLING
Runs an optional local review for a small set of familiar spelling errors. Choose Use suggestions or Keep my spelling. This is not a complete dictionary or AI spellchecker; it never changes custom strain wording without approval.

02 — Generate, retry and save

  1. Fill in the required fields, including a custom concept when that mode is selected.
  2. Click GENERATE DESIGN. Each click requests one image from the configured generator.
  3. Click TRY ANOTHER to make a fresh variation using the settings stored with the currently selected design. Previous images are never intentionally overwritten.
  4. Use Previous, Next, or the thumbnails to review older variations. Click DOWNLOAD IMAGE to save the selected one, or View complete generation prompt to inspect/copy its instructions.
  5. To adjust the existing strain, edit the form and click GENERATE DESIGN. The new variation is grouped by strain name, even if the concept, classification, THC, lineage, or image ratio changes.

The generator is instructed never to hide any letters in the main strain title, but image models can still make errors. Always check spelling, text placement, and borders before printing.

03 — My strain library and daily limit

All designs with the same strain name are collected under one entry. Matching ignores capitalization and extra spaces, but distinguishes genuinely different names. Each generation remembers its own details and optional reference image. Selecting an older variation restores those settings.

Your artwork and history are saved in your private Supabase account library and can sync across devices after you sign in. An optional importer for old V5 data is documented in the README; keep your V5 backups.

The counter in the top bar shows 20 live API generation attempts per calendar day per member by default (configurable by the administrator), plus a studio-wide limit. A failed paid API request can consume one attempt, but viewing, downloading, and spelling checks do not. These limits are checked by the server and reserved atomically in the cloud database before paid generation.

04 — Installing on your phone later

Version 6 includes the files needed for installation as a Progressive Web App (PWA), including a manifest and home-screen icons. It still runs locally for now; phone access requires a separately hosted, secured HTTPS version.

Android: Open the hosted studio in Chrome and select Install app or Add to Home screen from the browser menu. iPhone: Open the hosted studio in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

Image generation needs internet access. Your signed-in library is saved in Supabase and syncs across devices once the app is hosted.

05 — Magnific or Google?

In Google mode, the app directly generates one image and Google API usage may be charged. In Manual Magnific mode, the app creates a prompt for you to copy to your existing Magnific website account; you can then import the final picture. It does not log into Magnific automatically.

Keep your Google API key in the local .env file only; never upload it to a website, screenshot it or send it to other testers.
